Rita A. Squier, an artist who grew up in picturesque
New England, currently residing in lovely rural upstate New York.
Art is a creative peaceful process.
It is an adventure filled with inner peace, tranquility and a variety of emotions.
Rita is 100% viking yet she was born and raised in Connecticut, USA.
She graduated from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut
with a Bachelors Degree in Visual Arts and a major in Graphic Design.
Along with Graphic Design, Rita studied Illustration, Photography, Art History, Color Theory, Three Dimensional Design, Drawing, Original Lithography Printmaking & More!
Rita started out working in advertising,
quickly went on to open up her own design firm.
Creating and designing thousands of business cards, letterheads, envelopes, ads, newsletters, flyers, anything and everything printed.
A master at 2-dimensional design.
A number of incredible design projects for which she is under contract not to disclose any details.
She has also designed hundreds of craft show banners for craftswomen & men all across the USA.
She was a graphic designer, art director,
web designer, photographer & business manager for Squier Design Racing Graphics.
She has designed and co-designed with her husband, many awesome race car packages
from classic stripes and meatballs to retro flames and lettering for race cars,
exotic vintage cars, race boats, airplanes, motorcycles and commercial vehicles with a little signage thrown in too.
Wanting to get back to fine art, Rita began studying watercolor in 1995 under the instruction of several amazing artists.
She began exploring the medium through various books, classes and numerous workshops with Zoltan Szabo.
Rita has formal art school training and is also a self-taught artist in a variety of areas and mediums.
She spread her love and knowledge for watercolor as a painting instructor.
Rita’s watercolors, art of all kinds have been sold and shipped all over the world.
Her dew drop series was super popular and collected by many throughout the USA and across all corners of the globe.
She has explored acrylic painting and mixed media, resin jewelry and has played with fire creating torch fired enameled beads.
Rita has been listed in a number of Marquis' Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in America and also Who's Who in the World.
Rita is an award winning artist. She has won numerous awards for her artwork including several First Place Ribbons and Best in Show. She no longer enters art show competitions.
Rita has exhibited her work at numerous juried and non-juried art shows held up and down the east coast of the USA.
As always, Rita has a great interest in art and enjoys exploring a variety of mediums and methods.
Rita has donated original watercolor paintings to various charity fund raisers locally and across the USA and throughout the world. One of her favorites is donating to the Twitter Art Exhibit held annually since 2010 supporting a different small charity in a different country every year.
