About the Artist

Rita Squier, an artist who grew up in New England,
currently living in lovely rural upstate New York.

Art is a creative peaceful process.
It is an adventure filled with inner peace, tranquility
and a variety of emotions.

Rita was born and raised in Connecticut.
She graduated from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut
with a Bachelors Degree in Visual Arts and a major in Graphic Design.
Rita studied Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, Art History, Color, Three Dimensional Design,
Drawing, Original Lithography & Printmaking.

Rita started out working in advertising, then went on to open up her own business
Studio 46, a graphic design firm which she ran for 9 years (1990-1999).
She is also a graphic designer, art director, web designer, photographer & business manager
for Squier Design Racing Graphics, since 1995.
Wanting to get back to fine art, Rita began studying watercolor in 1995 under the instruction of several fantastic artists.
She began exploring the medium through various books, classes and numerous workshops with Zoltan Szabo.
Rita has formal art school training and is also a self-taught artist in some areas.
She spreads her love and knowledge for watercolor as a painting instructor.
As always, Rita has a great interest in art and enjoys exploring a variety of mediums.
She began exploring acrylics and mixed media in 2000.
Rita is listed in a number of Marquis' Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in America,
and also Who's Who in the World.
Rita is an award winning artist. She has won several awards for her artwork
including several First Place ribbons and a Best in Show.

Rita has exhibited her work at several juried and non-juried art shows held at Southern Vermont Art Center,
Mooresvilles Artist Guild in NC, Lebanon Valley Woman's Club, GFWC-New York State Woman's Club.

She has wanted to be an artist since the 1st grade.
